Lady Bears drops home game to Logan County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County couldn't return to the win column as Logan County prevailed 71-61 in a girls' high school basketball game on Monday, Feb. 6.

Logan County carried a lead out of each quarter, outscoring Butler County 20-15 in the opening period. 

Visiting Logan County led 36-32 at halftime in the non-district game.

Extending its lead over Butler County after the intermission period, Logan County led 55-42 at the end of the third quarter. 

Jenna Phelps scored 26 points to lead the Lady Bears. Phelps was the only Butler County player to reach double figures in scoring.

Narrowly missing double figures for Butler County, Ann Marie Skaggs scored nine points and Ava Wilson netted eight points. 

Chipping in offensively, Taylor Leach (seven points), Parker Willoughby (seven points), Kennedy Rice (two points) and Addison Miller (two points) provided Butler County's additional scoring. 

Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 16-8. 

 

Butler County is scheduled to host Edmonson County for a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday, Feb. 10.
