Price ranks fourth in state in scoring, three-point shooting; Rice 10th in rebounding

MORGANTOWN — Butler County sophomore guard Ty Price ranks fourth in the state in scoring.

Through 22 games, Price is averaging 30.4 points per game. Highly productive, Price has scored 669 points in 22 games. 

Among the state's top boys' high school basketball players regardless of class, Price is listed behind Lyon County's Travis Perry (30.5 ppg), Owen County's Teagan Moore (31.0 ppg) and Jacob Meyer of Holy Cross (Covington), who leads the state with a 34.7 points per game scoring average.

One of the state's top shooters, Price is ranked fourth in three-point field shooting. Price is averaging four three-point field goals per game. The Butler County standout is shooting 37.2 percent from three-point range. Price, who is receiving interest from numerous NCAA Division 1 men's college basketball programs across the nation, has connected on 89 of 239 three-point field goal attempts. 

In addition to excelling from beyond the arc, Price is among the state's best free throw shooters. Price's 85.7 free throw shooting percentage is currently ranked 14th in the state. 

Another talented Butler County sophomore, forward Lawson Rice is averaging 11.5 rebounds per game. Rice is ranked 10th in rebounding in the latest state rankings. 

As a team, Butler County is ranked 17th in the state in scoring. The Bears are averaging 73.1 points per game.
