Butler County 7     Trinity 2

Butler County V Bears wins the contest against Whitesville Trinity, 7-2.

The Bears pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Parker Pendley doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, and Butler County scored one on a stolen base.

Butler County scored three runs in the fifth inning. Pendley, Justin Castlen, and Kolton Hudson each had RBIs in the big inning.

Archery Team headed to Nationals; Maxfield second place in State

The Butler County High School Archery Team has had a phenomenal season, making history with its impressive performances in the KHSAA and NASP tournaments. The Boys' team placed 2nd in the KHSAA Region tournament and 3rd in the State tournament, marking the first time in school history that the Boys' team has placed at the State level. Meanwhile, the Girls' team finished 2nd in the KHSAA region and 7th in the State, showing that both teams are talented.

MES Archery

Congratulations to Morgantown Elementary Archery. They competed at the Bullitt East Pre-Nationals Warmup on Saturday, and the team earned 2nd place. They received their new top team score of 2993 and had several individual top scores. Four students shot perfect 50s Landon Fuson, Carter Burdette, Daphne Petrosky, and Delanie Ryan joined Raelynn Southerland in the 50 club.

Oak Ridge Warriors Baseball begins inaugural season

With several of their students aging out of little league but not their love of baseball, Oak Ridge Academy parents and staff joined to form the Oak Ridge Academy Warriors Baseball Team. In this, their inaugural season, the Warriors are currently 2-2.

Led by Head Coach Caleb Hunt and Assistant Coach Jerry Hunt, Jr., the team is comprised of the following players:

BC Softball: Continuing a Strong Season

Butler County 15     Grayson County 0

Tinslea Belcher didn't allow a single run against Grayson County, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Butler County Bears to a 15-0 victory on Tuesday.

Madison Clark went 4-for-5 at the plate. Clark homered in the first, singled in the second, homered in the third, and doubled in the fourth.

BCHS Baseball completes busy Spring Break week of games

Butler Co. 1       Daviess Co. 6

Butler County Bears fell to Daviess County Panthers 1-6 on Monday. Daviess County scored three runs in the fifth inning. Daviess County offense in the inning was led by Troutman and Huskisson, all knocking in runs.

Clay Vincent was on the pitcher's mound for Butler County. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out one and walking zero. Justin Castlen threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Kolton Hudson and Vincent each collected one hit to lead the Bears.

BCHS Softball wins two games and tie one in annual round-robin

BUTLER COUNTY ROUND-ROBIN SCORES:  

Butler Co.  3     Christian Co. 2

Both teams were strong in the circle Saturday, but Butler County Bears defeated Christian County Colonels 3-2. Pitcher Avery Gleason allowed just six hits.

Gleason was the winning pitcher for the  Bears. She allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven.

Butler County racked up five hits on the day. Parker Willoughby and Gleason all collected multiple hits for the Bears.

BC 4H Shooting Sports to host Kickoff Meeting

On April 11 at 6:00 pm, there will be a meeting to kick off the Butler County 4H Shooting Sports 2023 season. The meeting will be held at the Butler County Extension Service in the conference room. Even if an individual shot last year, it is important to attend the meeting and fill out updated enrollment forms. There is no fee for joining, with reasonable fees only incurred if a child wants to shoot trap.
