BC Baseball: Week One Review

Sophomore catcher #7 Brycen Mode goes 3 for 3 tonight at the plate in the win against Russellville.

The Butler County High School Baseball team opened their 2025 season this week.  The Bears finished week one 1-3.  They will be at home for week two on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

BC Softball: Week One Review

The Butler County High School Lady Bears open their 2025 Softball Season this week.  Due to weather, they were able to play three games. 

 

Lady Bears 0  Daviess Co. 18

Butler County fell to top-ranked Daviess County in an 18-0 loss on Tuesday.

Miley Franzell took the loss for the Bears. The starting pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up 18 runs (10 earned) on 14 hits, striking out none and walking two.

Butler County turned one double play in the game.

Parrish finishes third in Kentucky NASP State Tournament

LOUISVILLE — Butler County senior Jeffery Parrish finished third in the Kentucky NASP State Tournament at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center.
Parrish shot a 292 in the state tournament, which was held Friday, March 14-Saturday, March 15.

MORGANTOWN— Butler County senior guard Ty Price has been named the 3rd Region Boys' Basketball Player of the Year by the media.

Franzell ranked among 3rd Region's top softball players

MORGANTOWN — Butler County junior infielder/outfielder/pitcher Miley Franzell is among the top high school softball players in the 3rd Region.

Franzell is ranked 10th the Preseason 3rd Region Softball Player Rankings.

Coaches voted on the Preseason 3rd Region Softball Player Rankings, which feature student-athletes from six different teams.

Archers Ready for State Tournament

This weekend the Butler County High School and Butler County Middle School Archery Teams traveled to the Warren East State Warm-up Bullseye and 3D Tournament. Both teams did an amazing job taking top honors in the bullseye tournament. High School hit their highest score of the season with a 3401, placing them 3rd in state rankings. Congrats to all of the archers. Next weekend they will travel to Louisville, Kentucky.

Oak Ridge Lady Warriors are the 2025 KCSAA Varsity State CHAMPS!

The Oak Ridge Lady Warriors traveled to West Jessamine High School to participate in the Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association (KCSAA) state tournament.

Region 3 Boys Basketball Tournament

The KHSAA Region 3 Boys' basketball tournament will be at the Sports Center in Owensboro, Ky. The Boys' game dates are March 5, 6, 8, and 11. The eight-team tournament will include district champions and district runner-ups from Districts 9, 10, 11, and 12. The Regional draw was on Saturday, March 1st. Here is a breakdown of the bracket, dates, and game times.

The Butler County High Archery Team honored their seniors recently.

 

James Sanford is the son of Charles & Angela Sanford. James has been in archery for 8 years. James plans to attend college after graduation and become a vet tech.
