BCMS Boys' Basketball season in full swing

With well over 30 games played between the Butler County Middle School 7th and 8th grade basketball teams, head coach Dustin Barnett is seeing progress and improvement in both squads. Several games are remaining on the schedule in December and January, as well as the annual Green River Valley Conference Tournament that is set to begin January 25. The 8th grade team is currently 5-13 on the season and the 7th grade team is 4-13. Both squads have played challenging schedules against some of the better programs in the area.

"This season we have played a very tough schedule to prepare us for the GRVC tournament, so we knew going in that we would be challenged every night," said Coach Barnett. "We've lost some very close games including a couple in overtime. That makes us better and shows these young men how to deal with adversity."

Getting better each game is a priority for Coach Barnett.

"Both the 7th and 8th grade teams continue to improve each game and we are looking forward to the rest of the season, but especially the GRVC tournament which starts January 25th," said Barnett.
