The Butler County Boys Basketball Team will conduct Bear Camp 2013 this summer.  The camp will allow campers to interact with the BCHS Boys Basketball team, they accomplished many great things this year.  They are the 2013 12TH DISTRICT CHAMPS, REGION 3 ALL “A” CHAMPS, ALL “A” STATE TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANT .This is a great opportunity to improve fundamental skills and have a good time learning the skills needed to perform at your highest level.  Monday through Wednesday we will work on skill development and agility test, on Thursday we will have various competitions.

With the summer just around the corner, the Butler County High School football team has begun their spring practices.  Monday through Thursday players and coaches gather in the athletic facility to go over the playbook, then head to the practice field for some drills.

Tuesday night was a tough one for the BCHS Bears baseball team as they faced off against district foe Whitesville Trinity.  In the first match-up between the two teams, the Bears won with a score of 6-0, only allowing Whitesville to have 3 hits.  Tuesday night was a different story, as Whitesville exploded for 16 hits in their 8-5 defeat of the Bears.

The Morgantown - Butler County Swim Team is now taking sign-ups for the 2013 season. There are several option to sign-up this season:

May 4th from 12-2pm at the City Park

May 17th from 3:00 - 5:30pm at Morgantown Elementary or North Butler

Or you can drop off the registration form at 5 Season's Flowers and Gifts on Main St. across from the Court House.

Sign-ups are due by May 26th. No late signups will be taken.

The Butler County Baseball Little League held their Opening Day Ceremonies on Saturday morning at 10 o clock.  Teams from all four age groups were announced.  After reciting the Little League Pledge and a prayer, Bailey Hunt sang the National Anthem.  Roscoe, the Bowling Green Hot Rods mascot, threw out the first pitch.

The coaching staff and players of the Butler County  Bears’ softball team will be conducting a softball camp this summer for girls ages 5-12 from June 3-6, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Butler County (12-4) defeats South Warren 7-2 -- Natoshia White drove in three runs, sparking the Bears to a 7-2 victory in seven innings over South Warren on Monday at Home. She homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Morgan Manning was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for the Bears. Manning allowed one earned run, seven hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Mark Oliver of Butler County won the Late Model feature race Friday night at Beech Bend Raceway Park.  This was the first of many wins to come for Mark this season.

Spring has always been known as the season of new beginnings, and Saturday lived up to those expectations.  Butler County had many events going on that morning with the town mural being painted, youth baseball starting, and the arrival of turkey season.  Saturday also marked the start of Butler County Youth Soccer Season.  With over 115 children in 4 different age groups, there were many games to be played Saturday morning.
