Graham and Hinton travel with the WK Aces

The WK Aces traveled to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on April 6-7 to compete in the 4th Annual Appreciation Tournament. The team lost two games on Saturday in pool play, but won three games on Sunday to become the 10U Silver Minor Champions. The WK Aces is a 10U travel baseball team made up of players from Butler, Logan and Simpson Counties. Aaron Hinton, son of Lisa Sykes and Anthony Hinton and Carter Graham, son of Katrina Graham helped bring home the trophy this past weekend.

BCHS Baseball: Defeats Metcalfe, Falls to Franklin

After a weekend full of baseball over spring break, the BCHS Bears returned to play another busy week of competition.  On Monday night, BCHS traveled to Franklin Simpson to face the Wildcats where they dropped an 11-1 loss.  On Tuesday, looking for redemption, BCHS made the trip to Metcalfe County where the Bears proved victorious with a solid victory of 7-3 over the Hornets.

The Bears make the most of seven hits in 5-4 victory over Trinity

The Bears and Trinity both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Bears that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-4 district win at home. Trinity got eight hits compared with just seven for the Bears, but Trinity stranded eight on base.

Madeline Drake racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bears. She doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

BC Baseball competes in wood bat tournament at Shelby

Over spring break the BCHS Bears baseball team traveled to Shelby County to participate in the Shelby County Wood Bat Classic.  This marked the only wood bat tournament for the Bears this season.

Butler Co Girls Drop 5-0 Decision to Evansville Memorial:The Lady Bears Tennis Team returned to action on Friday, April 5th, wrapping up their spring break with perhaps the toughest team they will face all year.  Defending Indiana State Champions of Girls Tennis, Evansville Memorial.  The Lady Tigers are a top contender to repeat the honor too, as the Hoosier State's #2 ranked girls team.  The Lady Bears were completely shut out in games, across the board with their far superior opponents.  Memorial fields a starting line-up that includes three NCAA Division I prospects

Bears Softball goes 2-2 in Woodford County Tournament

BCHS Softball won the consolation bracket at the Woodford County Spring Break Tournament.

The Butler County High School Softball Team traveled to Woodford County during Spring Break, going 2-2 in tournament play and winning the consolation bracket.  The Bears, struggling at the plate, fell to Central Hardin and Collins High School on Friday night.  Butler County battled back on Saturday, picking up wins over host Woodford County and the Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL).

WKU's C-USA move official

Old collegiate rivalries and new money drove the economic engine that pushed Western Kentucky University to seek an affiliation with Conference USA, WKU President Gary Ransdell said Monday.

“We can control our own destiny and found a willing partner in Conference USA,” Ransdell said. “Our fans have to relate. As the Sun Belt changed dramatically, our fans related less and less to the games. We want rivalries to be constructive and high energy. Our fans have a reason to get in line and get their season tickets.”

Manning leads the Bears to 10-0 victory thanks to five strikeouts

Morgan Manning tossed a shutout to lift the Bears to an 10-0 win over Barren County at Barren County in seven innings.

The Bears' Manning kept Barren County off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out five.
