The Butler County Baseball Little League held their Opening Day Ceremonies on Saturday morning at 10 o clock.  Teams from all four age groups were announced.  After reciting the Little League Pledge and a prayer, Bailey Hunt sang the National Anthem.  Roscoe, the Bowling Green Hot Rods mascot, threw out the first pitch.

Following the Opening Ceremonies, fundraisers such as bouncy houses, raffles, and cookies sales began.  Those fundraisers were followed by an afternoon full of baseball.

Major League,

The first game of the day was between the older boys of the Major League.  With only two teams in this division, this was the first match of what should become a friendly rivalry.  Although both teams had solid outings, the Blue team simply had stronger bats Saturday afternoon edging out their opponents.

Minor League,

Although this game was the first of the season, both teams pitching and defense were solid throughout the game.  The game was tied at one until the Rockies came alive in the last inning, grabbing the 5-1 victory.

The Nationals made a statement in their opening of the season with some solid offensive play.

Across the parking lot, the Rookies had two good games with both the Phillies and Red Sox going home with a win.
