The Bears look to rebound after a tough loss to Russellville High School Panthers at the BCHS baseball complex on Tuesday night when they head to the South Warren Leadoff Classic this weekend.

Youth soccer sign up deadline has been extended!

The youth soccer sign-up deadline has been extended to March 26.  If you already have a sign-up form you may turn that in to the school OR you may mail it to Youth Soccer, 180 Old Dairy Rd. Morgantown, KY  42261 along with the registration fee. The fee is $45.00 and includes the uniform shirt and award.  If the fee and form are not submitted and paid by March 26, 2012, there will be a $15 late registration fee of $15.00.  All fees are to be paid to Butler County Youth Soccer Association or BCYSA.

BCHS Tennis: Girls Start Season 2-0, Boys split First Two Matches

The BCHS tennis teams kicked-off their 2012 seasons this week.  The girls are off to a 2-0 start, while the boys split their two matches, for a 1-1 record.

Bears Baseball fall to Henderson and Franklin-Simpson in Week 1

After the first week of action, the BCHS Baseball saw tough competition in two games, and had two dates canceled due to the heavy rains that came in over the weekend. 

The Bears dropped the first two games of the 2012 season to quality opponents. On Saturday March 10, the Bears suffered a defeat on their season opening game to the number 17 ranked (KHSAA Coaches Poll) Henderson County Colonels in 26-2 loss.

WKU Announces New Online Graduate Concentration in Sport Media & Branding

Graduate program a first for WKU's School of Journalism & Broadcasting

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Beginning this fall, the WKU Department of Kinesiology, Recreation & Sport (KRS) will expand the concentrations available through the M.S. in Recreation & Sports Administration. Through a partnership with WKU's School of Journalism & Broadcasting, KRS will offer an online concentration in Sport Media & Branding.

“This joint effort is academically rigorous and uniquely the first of its kind,” said KRS Professor William Hey.

Bears Baseball ready for 2012 season

2012 BCHS Bears Baseball Team

With temperatures warming up across the Commonwealth, it is beginning to feel like baseball season. With an earlier start date mandated by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, high school teams across the state are getting ready to play ball. The Bears headed to Henderson County this past weekend to take on the Colonels in their first regular season game of the year.

Gaskey picks up win against Tennessee State

Former Butler County standout and current Murray State pitcher CheyAnne Gaskey earned her second collegiate victory Sunday afternoon against Tennessee State. The Racers (8-4, 3-0 OVC) needed just five innings to defeat the Tigers (6-11, 0-3 OVC) 10-0 to complete the three-game series sweep of TSU. The sweep was the first in the history of the Murray State Softball program. Gaskey struck out three batters over five innings and gave up just three hits to the Tigers.

BC Little League Sign-Ups

Butler County Little League will be hosting sign-up at the Upward Basketball games on Saturday, March 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the BCMS gym. Entry fee is $50.00.
