BCHS Softball Picks Up Wins Over South Warren and Ohio Co.

Butler County (12-4) defeats South Warren 7-2 -- Natoshia White drove in three runs, sparking the Bears to a 7-2 victory in seven innings over South Warren on Monday at Home. She homered in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Morgan Manning was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for the Bears. Manning allowed one earned run, seven hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

The bottom of the first saw the Bears take an early lead, 2-0. The Bears caught fire after Madeline Drake singled. Then Natoshia White homered, bringing home Drake.

The lead stayed with the Bears after the fourth, when they scored four runs on an RBI double by Hannah Peach, an error, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single by Amy Rogers.

Lynsie Clark brought home the go-ahead run to give the Bears the lead in the eighth inning, as the Bears hung on to beat Ohio County 7-6 on Friday.
Amy Rogers singled to get on base in the eighth. She then went from first to second on a groundout by Natoshia White.

Hannah Peach put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Bears. She doubled in the second and fourth innings and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Morgan Manning recorded the win for the Bears even though she allowed six runs over eight innings. She struck out four, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

The Bears were sparked by Rogers and Peach, who teamed up for six hits and three RBIs.

The top of the second saw the Bears take an early lead, 3-0. The Bears' rally started when Taylor King singled. A passed ball then moved King from first to second. More runs came home for the Bears when Grubb and Peach scored on a two-run double by Madeline Drake.

The Bears got one-run boosts in each of the fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth. In the fourth, the Bears scored on a sacrifice fly by Drake, scoring Peach. Rogers had a solo homerun in the sixth.

The Bears pushed one run across in each of the fifth, sixth and eighth. In the fifth, the Bears scored on an RBI single by Peach, bringing home King.

The Butler County Bears JV fourth-inning burst enough to top Ohio County, 7-0

The Butler County Bears JV beat Ohio County 7-0 in four innings on Friday at Ohio County after a four-run explosion in the fourth inning.  Cheyenne White racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Butler County Bears JV. She tripled in the fourth inning.

The Butler County Bears JV's Kassie Jo Phelps kept Ohio County off the scoreboard for all four innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up three.

The Butler County Bears JV didn't relinquish the lead after scoring three runs in the third inning when they scored on an RBI double by Kassie Jo Phelps and an RBI single by Madison "Boo" Clark.
