Bowling Green, KY. (May 21, 2021) – Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green was requested by the Warren County Sheriff's Office to investigate a fatal collision that occurred just before 7:00 P.M. today.  Troopers responded to the collision scene on Morgantown Road near the intersection of Midcrest Drive in Warren County.

Butler County's 4th Annual National Day of Prayer and the Nation's 70th was held recently on the Butler County Courthouse lawn. Event organizer Gina Tynes welcomed everyone and shared this year's theme of Lord, Pour out your Love, Life, and Liberty.

Morgantown City Council held an online zoom meeting on Thursday, May 13. All council members were in attendance: Dionne Merritt, Sharon Johnson, Russell Givens, Bryan Locke, Dustin Embry, and Jason Gaskey.

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, May 10 at the Butler County Courthouse. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 officers held a memorial service at the grave of Trooper Darrell Vendl Phelps at Union Cemetary. 

Phelps' son Darren placed the wreath on his father's grave.

It is with great pride that Morgantown Bank & Trust announces the 50^th anniversary of Veronica Keown.  Veronica, a Morgantown native, began her tenure with MB&T on May 20, 1971.  She has held multiple positions within the organization including Teller, Bookkeeping Clerk, Customer Service Representative, Loan Officer and Branch Manager.   She currently serves as Vice President and Trust Officer. 

The Butler County Board of Education met in a regular session on Tuesday, May , 2021 at the Butler County High School Auditorium.  Amy Hood, Delbert Johnson, Debbie Hammers, Ryan Daugherty, and Rich Ellis were the board members present.  The meeting was chaired by Superintendent Robert Tuck. 

Louisville, KY (May 11, 2021) – Cardwell Family Farm and Struttin Rooster of Butler County are two of the 108 markets across the Commonwealth accepted into the 2021 Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Certified Farm Market Program.  

Update) Morgantown, KY. (May 13th, 2021) - The Kentucky State Police have arrested 43 year-old Samantha J. Stewart of Morgantown, in connection with the death of Michael Embry. Stewart was charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.  She has been lodged in the Butler County Jail.
