Feed The Need Results in more than 60,000 non-perishable items being collected for food pantries

United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK) collected more than 43,000 items in Warren County and more than 61,136 items region-wide during the 13th annual “Feed the Need” food drive, with some food collections still running. More than 50 organizations in Allen, Barren, Butler, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties participated in Feed the Need either by running an internal drive or by volunteering at store drives in Barren, Butler, Logan and Warren counties.

Kentucky gets waiver of federal accountability requirements for 2020-2021 school year

Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 Vaccine Update

Barren River District Health Department has paused the administration of Johnson & Johnson vaccination under the direction of the Kentucky Department of Public Health, the CDC, and the FDA. Due to the temporary pause in Johnson & Johnson vaccinations, we are providing (2-dose) Moderna vaccines during all scheduled vaccination clinics. Existing appointments will be honored with Moderna vaccine in place of Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

MPD: Drug Arrest

On April 7, officers with the Morgantown Police Department responded to the Morgantown Inn about a possible overdose. Through investigation, Kimberly Crowe, age 36 of Morgantown, and Kevin Anderson, age 40 of Bowling Green, were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense Methamphetamine, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess, Possession of Marijuana and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The investigation is ongoing, with new charges to be presented to Grand Jury.
