Butler County School Board approves Senate Bill 128 - also known as the “Re-Do Year”

The Butler County Board of Education met in a regular session on Tuesday, May , 2021 at the Butler County High School Auditorium.  Amy Hood, Delbert Johnson, Debbie Hammers, Ryan Daugherty, and Rich Ellis were the board members present.  The meeting was chaired by Superintendent Robert Tuck. 


Under Student Support Services,  the Butler County School Board approved the request of students for Senate Bill 128, also known as the “Re-Do Year.”  This will give students the opportunity to repeat the year they are currently enrolled in. The application for approval was due to the board on April 30th.  


Under Communication, Assistant Superintendent Josh Belcher presented to the board each school submitted plans, schedules, and guidelines for the Summer Bear Academy. Elementary and middle school will focus on priority standards for math, stem science projects, computer literacy, and hands-on stem projects is the focus in science. The high school will focus on credit recovery, priority standards, and ACT preparation. 

 

Finally, under-recognition the Butler County Board of Education wanted to recognize all of the teachers for teacher appreciation week that was May 3rd-7th. Each recognized their teachers with various tokens of gratitude.  The Board of Education would like to thank local businesses for their donations and support.
