Kaden White performed at Kentucky Farm Bureau Variety Showcase

 Kaden White of Butler County performs at the 2021 KFB Variety Showcase in Louisville.

Louisville, KY (December 8, 2021) – Kaden White of Butler County performed before a live audience during the December 3 general session of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 102nd annual meeting in Louisville. Winner of both the Butler County and District 3 preliminary contests, White was one of 11 acts invited to perform at the state level Variety Showcase. The competition is sponsored annually by KFB to support youth achievement in entertainment.

White, who sang “I Speak Jesus,” was awarded a $250 check for being named the district winner of the Variety Showcase.

Gifted and Talented students participate in National Day of Giving

The first Tuesday after Thanksgiving is known as the National Day of Giving and Butler County students were able to be a small part of that initiative.  Gifted and Talented students ranging from 4th-12th grade volunteered at the library, the mission, the animal shelter, and several of our schools.

Caleb Smithson Wins Kentucky Farm Bureau Discussion Meet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 3, 2021) Caleb Smithson of Butler County won first place in the final round of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) Discussion Meet, a debate-styled competition for young farmers that relies on an individual’s skill in reasoning and logical discussion of issues. The topic was: “As the world population increases, so will the need for renewable resources. On a local level and across the globe, how can Farm Bureau help farmers and ranchers continue to increase their efficiency in the use of valuable resources and transition to ‘Green Energy’ practices on their farm?”

Senator C.B. Embry joins Kentucky Taiwan Legislative Caucus

FRANKFORT, Ky. (November 23, 2021) – Recently, Senator C.B. Embry Jr. accepted an invitation from Senate Co-Chairmen Whitney Westerfield and Senate Minority Caucus Chair Reginald Thomas to become a member of the Kentucky Taiwan Caucus.

The Kentucky Taiwan Caucus is the newest established caucus of the Kentucky General Assembly after being authorized by a memorandum by Senate President Robert Stivers and House Speaker David Osborne at a November 10 meeting of the Legislative Research Commission.

Early Childhood Institute brings together expertise to strategize spending $6 million in local communities

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 22, 2021) — Following a recent two-day institute on best practices in early childhood education, the state soon will award nearly $6 million in grants to improve early childhood care and education in local communities throughout the commonwealth.
