After six weeks of basketball action, the 7th grade Butler County Middle School boys basketball team moves to 13 and 1 on the season with two great wins this week and the 8th grade team advances to 11 and 3 after two wins this week as well.

A former district foe was on the schedule Tuesday night when the basketball squads from Butler County High traveled to Todd County. Rebel Gym greeted the Butler teams with a rowdy crowd, and a hot and stuffy environment.

Every Saturday for the next couple of months you will find a large number of boys and girls in the gyms at Morgantown Elementary and North Butler. Yes, that's right. Jr. Pro boys basketball and cheerleading is in full swing.

A solid first half of basketball by the Butler County Lady Bears (1-3) was overshadowed on Monday night in the second half as the Greenwood Lady Gators came to Morgantown and left with a 66-35 win.

Whitesville, KY was the destination on Friday night when the basketball teams from Butler County High School loaded up the bus and hit the road.
To conclude the Butler County Cross-Country season, a banquet was held on Thursday, December 8th at Butler County High School to honor this years' athletes.

The Butler County Bears traveled up the Natcher Parkway on Tuesday night to Bowling Green to take on the Blue Raiders of Warren East High School. The Raiders are yet another team that Coach Greg Woodcock added to the schedule this season to test his Bears against tougher competition.

The Oak Ridge Lady Warriors continue their winning streak this past Thursday beating North Hardin 18-16. Taylor Harris and DeeDee Bratcher both had 6 points and Cortney Jo Williams and Hannah Burden with 3 each.

The Butler County Bears returned home on Saturday night to take on the visiting Panthers of Russellville High School. Both teams came into the game winless on the young season and were hungry to grab a victory.
