FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 16, 2016) – Fishing for many species slows in the daytime hours during the heat of summer, but smallmouth bass who inhabit Kentucky streams bite willingly even on the hottest days.

A total of 80 young anglers took part in the 18th Annual Butler County Longbeard's Jakes event Saturday morning on the Haynes Family property in the Leonard Oak community of Butler County.

The coaching staff and players of the Butler County Bears’ softball team will be conducting a softball camp this summer for girls ages 5-12 from June 13-16, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. daily. The 15th Annual B.C.H.S. Softball Camp will be held at the B.C.H.S.

The Butler County Track Team traveled to Lexington on May, 28th to compete in the Class A State Meet. BCHS had several entries this year including the Girls 4X800 Relay, Kierra Neighbors in the 100 hurdles, Boys 4X100 Relay, Hannah Perry in the 800M, and the Boys 4X400 relay.

Butler County Bassmasters held their third Points tournament for the 2016 season at Nolin Lake Saturday, May the 14th. The weather was pretty brutal, with dropping temperatures and high winds taking the larger fish out of the equation for the most part.
