The 2016 edition of the BCHS Football Bears continues daily workouts preparing for the upcoming season. This week the Bears completed week #3 of workouts, in helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts.

The 4th Annual Stan England Charity Golf Scramble benefitting the Butler County Boys & Girls Club was held on Saturday, July 16, at The Golf Course at Riverview. This year's winning teams were as follows:1st Place Carroll Pearson, Bob Hovious, Reed Martin and Marty Pearson

Butler County Bassmasters held their fifth team trail points tournament for the 2016 season at Barren River Lake on Friday night July 15th. The weather at the lake was 6.5 ft. high but clear, with plenty of fish being caught.

BCHS 2016 Varsity Football practice officially begins Monday, July 11th. Daily workouts will be from 8-11am daily Monday through Friday. All BCHS freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are expected to attend.

A large turnout of shooters and fans came out to the Charles Black City Park on Saturday, July 2, for the Green River Catfish Festival Archery Tournament. The event was sponsored by Morgantown Bank & Trust and all proceeds were donated to the Butler County Schools' Archery teams.

BCMS Football Practice will start on Monday, July 11th for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student interested in playing. Practice will be held Monday – Thursday from 8-10am. Students must have a current KHSAA Physical to participate.

Butler County Bassmasters held the second annual Green River Catfish Festival Open bass tournament at Green River on Saturday, June 26th. The tournament was presented by Jackson Chiropractic.

Sixteen Morgantown Elementary students and their families traveled to Myrtle Beach this past week to participate in the NASP World Tournament! Tournament action began on Thursday, June 23 and ended Sunday, June 25; the MES team had their flight at 12:15(ET) on Friday the 24th.
