BCMS Football Moves to 5-2 on the Season

After a couple of tough losses last week, the BCMS Bears Football team headed to Grayson County for a must win game against the Cougars.  During the 7th grade game neither the Bears nor the Cougars were able to get on the scoreboard during regulation or the first overtime.  It wasn't until the second overtime that quarterback Kyle Chambers was able to connect with Gage Beasley in the endzone for 6 points.  The Bears were unable to get the 2 point conversion, but it didn't matter because their defense kept the Cougars from scoring allowing the Bears to win with a score of 6-0. The 7th grade team is now 4-3 on the season.

The 8th grade game was a low scoring event as well.  William Jones ran the ball into the endzone during the first half of the game for the Bears.  Jake McKee was able to get in the endzone with a quarterback keeper for the 2 point conversion.  This would be the only points the Bears put on the scoreboard.  It was, however, enough due to the Bears stellar defense.  On two different occasions the Bears were able to stop the Cougars offense from scoring when they were within 5 yards of the goal line.  Late in the second half, Grayson County scored a touchdown, making the score 8-6 in favor of the Bears.  It was the Bears defense that came through once again to keep the Cougars from completing the 2 point conversion which proved to be the most important play of the night.  The Bears won a nailbiter with a score of 8-6.  The 8th grade team is now 5-2 on the season.

The Bears final game of the regular season will be at home Tuesday night, September 18, against Breckenridge County.  This will be 8th grade night.  Kick off will be at 5:30 with 8th grade night activities between the games.
