Cheryl Hughes: Rule Number 4

I grew up with adults who told me three things on a constant loop: 1. You aren’t as smart as you think you are. 2. We expected better from you. 3. I know what you’re thinking.  They were right about number 3.  There was no mystery there, they told me what to think, so it would stand to reason that they would know what I was thinking.

Jarrod Jacobs: Wrong Attitudes

We studied last week that people’s wrong attitudes result in wrong actions. We saw that God’s people contend with the temptation to have these wrong attitudes. In fact, the Bible shows us some folks who had wrong attitudes and sinned as a result. Let us study some more wrong attitudes and learn what God expects of us.

Every weekend, I have Alexa wake me up to SiriusXM ‘80’s on 8.  Sunday mornings, they replay their countdown from that week in a chosen year of the ‘80’s.  The song that caught my ear was “Chariots of Fire” from Vangelis.  The instrumental was written and recorded by Vangelis for the film called, you guessed it, Chariots of Fire.

Spring projects have been on my mind and on my to-do list all month. Thankfully, I am making progress. Wondering whether others also have spring projects, I asked friends and family, “Do you have home or yard projects that you want to complete this spring or early summer?” Responses indicated that many are working on improvements. The replies are listed below.

-Yes, at the farm house, I need to make flower beds and at the house around the pool, I want to add a flower bed.

-Clean out the weeds and put in a fire pit.

There’s a wonderful scene in the Netflix series, “The Crown,” where Prime Minister Winston Churchill is in the bathtub, listening to his new secretary, who is on the other side of the door in the hallway, read to him the briefings for the day from Parliament.  He interrupts her to ask, “What did they tell you about me?”  When she hesitates, he encourages her to tell him the truth.

Jarrod Jacobs: Wrong Attitudes

There are people in this world who are guilty of having wrong attitudes. People’s wrong attitudes then result in wrong actions. God’s people from the beginning have had to contend with wrong attitudes and wrong actions from others.

Every now and then, there will be a radio personality who creates a character and makes a name off it.  For instance, Earl Pitts is a fictional character performed by Gary Burbank, a radio personality from Burbank, California.  His character is a stereotype of a redneck from the southern Uni

I totally overlooked International Women’s Day on March 8th. It’s not a holiday or a celebration that is on my radar. However, I do respect the accomplishments of many people. Among those are seven women who have lived a part of their lives during my lifetime. Their accomplishments (information from Wikipedia) have in some ways improved life outside their personal circles.

I took apart the swing set in our back yard, and I look like I’ve been beat with a baseball bat, but I was tired of mowing around it.  In fairness to Garey, he would have done it had I asked, but he works a full-time job and keeps up with our farm, as well.  Besides, I’ve helped him take eno
