“Snakes Alive”

Some people don’t fear snakes – most do.  My old friend, Don Sharer used to say, “People who like snakes need serious help.”

I can’t remember who said it, but I really like the following quote: “It is quite possible to work without results, but never will there be results without work.

            A few years ago, I saw a short video that has remained burned in my memory. This “viral” video showed a mother kick her elementary school-aged son out of the house and tell him he needed to find a new place to live. Her reason for doing this was because the child voted for Donald Trump in a mock election!

My little black book is important to me.  My little black book is something I’ll never lose.  My little black book includes things I could never commit to memory. 

Watching plants grow in the summer is one of my pleasures. And I’ve done some reading in preparation for selecting this year’s plants. I have focused on berry patches, popular vegetables, and container herbs as well as mosquito-repelling plants.

Cows and things.

I’ll bet you didn’t know a cow had no upper teeth.  She/he didn’t see a dentist, she was born that way.

            I had a dear friend ask me how God could kill thousands upon thousands in the Old Testament. He said it was hard for him to believe that God would want this. I appreciate this question and respect him for asking it. When we study the Scriptures, we see that God wants folks to examine, test, and ask questions like my friend did (Isa. 1:18; Matt. 11:29; Acts 17:11; Eph. 5:10; I Thess. 5:21; Rom. 12:2). Below is my answer to my friend’s question.

There are many classic songs that have been covered over the years.  It’s pretty well known that the Supremes performed “You Can’t Hurry Love” in 1966 on the Motown label.  Written and produced by Motown production team Holland-Dozier-Holland, the song topped the U.S. Billboard pop singles chart, made the U.K.

I’ve heard that “April showers bring May flowers.” May has traditionally brought me Mother’s Day, blooming plants, and bathing suits. This is because I’m a mom and a grandmother.
