Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

My little black book is important to me.  My little black book is something I’ll never lose.  My little black book includes things I could never commit to memory.  If I ever lost it, most of my relationships would vanish.  You wouldn’t think a little black book would be so important during a pandemic.  My little black book is where I keep all my passwords.

Netflix, Hulu, Peacock Network, the all-important Apple ID, Bleacher Report, ESPN, Gmail, NFL Fantasy, GoodReads are just a few of the logins that I have in my little black book.  Before I got the book, I was writing down my passwords on a legal pad.  And I lost most of those pads.  I knew I had to get a password book but I didn’t want a huge book.  I went to Barnes & Noble, asked about them and was directed to them.  I immediately picked one up, bought it and have filled it up and never lost it since.  Okay, it’s not completely filled but it’s full enough.

No way I could remember all those passwords.  Remembering all those numbers, symbols, asterisk is next to impossible.  Mine is a Piccadilly.  I really did not care what brand it was.  I just needed a book to keep my passwords.

My little black book is far more important to me than Sam Malone’s little black book.  If you’re asking who Sam Malone is, first of all, shame! Second, get yourself to Hulu and find and watch Cheers, one of the greatest shows of all time.  Also, get you a password book.  If you’re tired of writing passwords on little post-it notes and putting them everywhere, the little books are very useful.  All your passwords in one place.
