Cheryl Hughes: Watch and Learn

My granddaughter, Sabria, decided she needs a Flipazoo—one of those stuffed animals that turns inside out to form another animal.  She wants the husky that turns into a polar bear.  I told her I hadn’t seen anything that even resembled that at any of the stores in Bowling Green, so we might have to order it online.

Jarrod Jacobs: God's Wisdom

One thing that I find lacking in this world is the wisdom of God. Can we ever know God’s wisdom? I suggest that we can know God’s wisdom when we read the Bible. For this article, I chose Psalm 119 as the basis for our study because it emphasizes God’s word in every verse. Please read the verses listed below carefully and be ready to make some applications.

Senator C.B. Embry's Legislative Update

Across the Bluegrass, Kentuckians await the arrival of Memorial Day weekend. As family and friends gather, it is imperative to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. The brave men and women who fought and died, defending the freedom we covet as Americans, deserve our respect and gratitude. Collectively, I ask that we pay tribute and celebrate the true meaning of the upcoming holiday.

The network television shakeup is always intriguing.  Some personal favorites get cancelled(I’ll get to that), some shows you think won’t get renewed get renewed, and ones you think “how is that still on the air”, are coming back and have, in fact, been around a half decade. My youngest grandson is graduating from Butler County High School. In our family, graduation is a time of family celebration. We celebrate the graduate’s accomplishment – reaching a milestone. And we celebrate the family reaching a finish line.

Cheryl Hughes: Gifting Loop

One of my friends recently confessed to me that she had rejoiced at the news that Patti’s Restaurant (near LBL) had been temporarily closed due to a fire.  Her first thought had been, “Thank God, my kids won’t be taking me there for Mother’s Day!”  Evidently, they make the trek to Patti’s every year, believing they are doing their mom a huge favor, when all she really wants is a short trip to Bowling Green and a filet mignon from Rafferty’s.

Jarrod Jacobs: “From Everlasting To Everlasting”

Some may be confused as to the time-frame of the Lord’s work for man. Some view Christ’s work as limited to the three years in the first century in which He lived in Palestine and taught people, and finally died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected the third day. To limit the Lord’s work in this manner is to be inaccurate.

Phil's Philosophy BY; D.P. Kinkade contributions by; Taylor and Drake Kinkade

PUT A PENCIL IN MY HAND-Not long ago, at the place where my family goes to worship and examine what a life of faith looks like, we took some time to explore the psalms. At the conclusion of the teaching we all were invited to take a few moments and write our own psalm.

There are a lot of things that stick in your memory forever: your high school graduation, college graduation, your first job, your first shooting.  “Wait! What was that last one”?

Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

Mother’s Day is next Sunday, and I’ve been thinking about how mothers influence their children. Someone said, “Each of us should appreciate what we have in our mothers. They are our teachers and our role models.” I’ve heard many say that mothers are our first teachers.
