Cheryl Hughes: Storms

Storms have never bothered me much.  If there are every thunder storm warnings flashing across the local TV screen, I’ll look up from the book I’m reading and tell my husband Garey, who is checking the sky from various vantage points in the house, to let me know when we need to head to the cellar.

Jarrod Jacobs: Just Like You ??

What if you knew of people who were trying to be just like you? What if folks wanted to dress like you, act like you, talk like you, be employed at the same place, live in the same town you live in, etc.? What would you think of people like that? Do you think this would be a wise thing for folks to do? Would you encourage people in this pursuit? Why or why not?

PHIL'S PHILOSOPHY By; D.P Kinkade Contributions By; Taylor & Drake Kinkade

GRADUALLY  GRADUATING- I was almost overwhelmed by emotion sitting in that arena, very early on a Saturday morning. I had been dreaming about this moment for over twenty years and now it was here. One of my children was walking the line and shaking the Dean's hand, as he congratulated her and a few hundred others, for becoming college graduates.

Senator C.B. Embry's Legislative Update

Across the Bluegrass, Kentuckians await the arrival of Memorial Day weekend. As family and friends gather, it is imperative to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country. The brave men and women who fought and died, defending the freedom we covet as Americans, deserve our respect and gratitude. Collectively, I ask that we pay tribute and celebrate the true meaning of the upcoming holiday.

Jarrod Jacobs: When Does Life Begin?

The controversy concerning when life begins continues today. Some justify killing their unborn children by saying that they were not actually alive before birth. Some do not argue the fact of whether or not their child is alive but wonder whether or not it is human in its developmental stages.

I will enter the final year of my 30’s this Sunday.  In recent birthday’s, I’ve asked myself the question of “what have you accomplished this year”? It’s a natural thing for most.  Whether or not you’re supposed to do it I don’t know.  I suppose that’s up to the individual.

This year Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 28th. This holiday weekend has become the unofficial beginning of the summer vacation season. It’s also a popular family time. So, while some people stay home, others choose to travel.
