Ethel Renfrow Nash

Ethel Renfrow Nash 86 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her residence. Ethel was born August 22,1926 in Butler County to the late Herman and Beulah Cox Renfrow and wife of the late Paul Nash. She was preceded in death by son Joey Nash, 3 brothers; Howard, Billy and Harold Renfrow. She was a homemaker, member of Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church and attended Temple View General Baptist Church.

Ben Thomas Brown

Ben Thomas Brown, 82,  of Quality, Ky. left this earthly home to be with the Lord Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Medical Center Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Mr. Brown was born October 17, 1930 in Butler County, to the late George William and Ora Webster Brown.  He was an oil field worker, but most of all a farmer. Mr. Brown was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a former member of the Butler County Board of Education. He loved his family and enjoyed woodworking.

Charles C. Deweese, 81 of Elkhorn City, Kentucky. passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at Mountainview Health Care in Elkhorn City, Ky. Charles was born November 10, 1931, in Butler County to the late Troy and Velcie Cannon Deweese. He was proceeded in death by one brother Raymond Deweese.
Charles C. Deweese is survived by 2 brothers, Herrel Deweese and wife Mardell of Bloomington,IN and Richard Deweese of Bloomington, IN, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Shelby Wester

Shelby Wester, age 83, of Rochester, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his residence in Rochester. Shelby was born on November 14, 1929 to the late Floyd and Lida Brown Wester.  He was a logger and farmer, and a United States Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Penny Wester; two brothers, Harry and Marvin Wester; six sisters, Marguerite Hammers, Martine Jenkins, Venice Brown, Avel Andrews, Louise Poole, and Wilma Schumacher.

Ruby Mae Phelps Roberson

Ruby Mae Phelps Roberson, of Townsend, answered her final roll call and slipped away to her heavenly reward on May 7, 2013. She was born to parents Estil and Edna Camfield Phelps in Morgantown, Ky., Butler County, March 27, 1932. In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her son, Stephen; and her only brother, Paul Phelps. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Rob Roberson; daughter, Wanda Killian; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a small child, Ruby was raised in life’s school of hard knocks.

Christine Render, 90 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Morgantown Care and Rehab. Christine was born September 30, 1922 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Ray Belcher and Etta Stahl Whittaker. Christine was a store clerk for businesses in Morgantown, Ky. She was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church and a member of Big Bend Rural Development.  She was preceeded in death by husband Buster Waddle, husband H.D. (Dav)Render, and brother Vernon Belcher.

Harold Wayne Belcher

Harold Wayne Belcher age 72 of Rochester, KY passed away Saturday June 29, 2013 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. He was the son of the late Harold Rufus and Virginia Lou Alice Belcher. Harold was born on September 26, 1940 in Logan County, KY. He was a carpenter and brick layer and was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his daughter Helen Marie Reeves.

Oval Ray Brooks

Oval Ray Brooks, 69 of Louisville, Ky. passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at the University Hospital.   Mr. Brooks was born October 7, 1943 in Butler County, to the late Wilbur and Beulah Bryant Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a Taxi Cab Driver who loved bargain shopping and music.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur B. Brooks Jr. and three sisters, Margie Hack, Marie Elliott and Ruby Downs.

Oval Brooks is survived by one son:  Clinton Brooks and wife Pam of Elizabethtown, Ky.;  one brother:  Clifton Brooks and wife Madge of Leitchfield.  Several nieces and nephews.

Maudie Pauline Deweese

Maudie Pauline Deweese, 79, of Beaver Dam, passed away, June 28, 2013 at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born December 29, 1933 in Muhlenberg CO., KY to the late John Patterson and Nellie Decker Lindsey. She was a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Little Bend. She was a former employee of Kanes Manufacturing, Renfrow’s Grocery, Butler County School Bus Driver, and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Glendall Lindsey, Lyndall Lindsey, James William Lindsey, Paul Lindsey, and Thurman Lindsey, and a daughter-in-law, Helen Faye Deweese.

Tyler Ray Embry

Tyler Ray Embry, 24 of Morgantown died on May 30, 2013 as the result of an accident at Vanderbilt Medical Center.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Community House of Prayer in Butler Co.

Tyler is survived by his father, John Ray Embry of Morgantown, 3 brothers, John D. Embry of Morgantown, Kevin Mayer, Evansville, In and Timothy Ray Embry of Hardin County, Ky. and one sister, Sandra Townsell of Henderson, Ky.

He is also survived by Nancy Embry of Jetson, Ky.

Cone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
