Vernie "Paul" Belcher, 87,  of Owensboro, Ky. passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Belcher was born December 30, 1925 in Butler County, to the late Herschel Belcher and Florence Applin Belcher.  He was a Service Foreman at Atmos Gas for 32 years,  WWII Navy Veteran. He was presented with the Green River Chapter NSDAR Veteran of the year in 2008. He was a member of The American Legion and Parrish Avenue Baptist Church. His hobbies included being a vendor at Flea markets, refinishing furniture and watching UK. His favorite thing was the love of his grandchildren .

Janice Sue Blanchard Phelps, 64  of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, at her residence in Morgantown. Mrs. Phelps was born September 9, 1948, in Butler County, to the late Medford Lee Blanchard and Dixie Maybell Douglas Blanchard.  She was a member of Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church. Mrs. Phelps was a cook for the Community Action of Southern Kentucky Headstart Program in Morgantown for 11 years. After retiring she became a  fulltime homemaker.

Charles Casey, 81 of Santa Fe New Mexico formerly of Butler County Ky. passed away Friday August 2, 2013 at the Casa Real Nursing Home in New Mexico. He was born October 22, 1931 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Monroe and Gertrude Embry Casey. Charles was the owner and operator of Trucking Equipment Corp and was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death one brother Clinton Casey and 5 sisters Fosteen Maddox, Lorene Smith, Allene Flener, Dimple Leach and Mae Simmons.

Jonell Baldwin age 81 Rockfield, KY entered into rest Tuesday, August 06, 2013.

She was the daughter of the late Claude Hunton and Mamie Hayes Hunton.  Jonell was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; Jewell Baldwin.

She is survived by her son; Ron Baldwin, Rockfield, KY, a daughter Vickie Baldwin Reid, Birmingham, AL; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Wesley Baldwin and Elizabeth Reid.    

She was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Jewell Garrison, 87 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away at her daughter's residence in Bowling Green, Ky. Wednesday July 31, 2013. Jewell was born March 22, 1926 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Walter and Effie Lindsey Forsythe. She was the wife of the late Murray Garrison for 54 years and a member of Morgantown Church of Christ. She and her husband Murray opened a family business Garrison's in 1957 and continues to be run by their son Walter. Also preceded in death by two brothers Jesse and Ben Justice "Duck" Forsythe.

Carolyn Oden McCoy, 78,  of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. McCoy was born October 24, 1934 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Coyle Oden  and Elizabeth Yancey Oden.  She was employed  20 years as a Bank teller for Texas Bank and Trust, 15 years in the administrative office at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas  where she also severed as the cheerleading  coach  for many years.  After making their home in Butler Co. she worked at Green River Bank until her retirement.

Zonie Mae Johnson Childers 88,  of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Childers was born January 4, 1925 in Butler County, to the late Columbus and Effie Johnson .  She was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church. Mrs Childers was a babysitter for many years and loved to quilt.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth Phelps, one infant daughter Imindie Phelps and ten siblings.

Hayden Mudd, age 81, of Caneyville, KY passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home in Caneyville.  

He was born on April 23, 1932 in Grayson County, the son of the late Athel and Thelma Blair Mudd. He was retired from the County road department also worked on EMS and did lawn mower repair. He was a member of the Caneyville Masonic Lodge.  

Aleta Joanne Koval Tines, 64,  of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her residence. Ms. Tines was born January 7, 1949 in Hopewell, VA, to the late Joseph John Koval and Ruby Juanita Crotts Koval.  She was a homemaker.  Ms. Tines was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Linda Gurganus and Robin Richardson; two grandchildren, Joseph Edward Chilson and Sierra Chilson
