Katie Joann Givens Freed

Katie Joann Givens Freed, 25, of  Adairville, Ky. passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Ky.  Katie was born August  9, 1989  in Logan County  to the late Will "Firecracker" Haley, and Wanda Givens who survives.  She was  employed at the Dollar General Store.  Katie had a passion for reading, she loved going to the library, and spending time reading her favorite books. She always loved to cook for her family and friends whenever she could. She was  preceded in death by her father Will "firecracker" Haley

Linda Leathem Hayes

Linda Leathem Hayes, 71, of Rochester died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at the Heartford House. She was born in Louisville, was retired from Nick T. Arnold Jewelers and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Clydia Leathem; and a sister, Virginia Huff.

Nancy Carline Willis

Nancy Carline Willis, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died at 7:17 pm August 28, 2014 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. She  was born March 27, 1931 in Richardsville, Kentucky to the late Jim and Mary Hopper Davis.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Willis; two sisters, Syble Glass Gross and Mae Davis Hazel; two brothers, Elvis Davis and Ether Davis, and several nieces and nephews.

Minnie Pharris Beasley

Minnie Pharris Beasley was small enough to fit in a shoebox when she was born back on February 7th, 1923.  She was named after Minnie Embry, the midwife who her parents paid five dollars to deliver her in their log cabin.  Life didn't get much easier, narrowly escaping being shot by her brother playing rabbit huntin' with a loaded rifle while Minnie and her sisters hopped about.  She walked three miles to school in clothes that her mother sewed for her to share with her sisters.  Minnie had to hand wash them with water from the spring using the lye soap her mother made from slaughtering one

Newton "Red" Forgy

Forgy, Newton "Red", 74, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014.

He was a native of Quality, KY, an employee of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center for over 50 years, a member of Quality Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and an avid UofL fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Edith Mae Forgy.

He is survived by his brother, Harold Forgy (Jo Ann); longtime friend and girlfriend, Liz Branch; niece, Mary Jo Graham (Terry); great-nephew, Jacob Hunter Graham; and several cousins and friends.

James "Sug" Douglas

 James "Sug" Douglas, 85, of Browder, died Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mr. Douglas was born September 12, 1928, in Muhlenberg County. He was truck driver at B & R Lumber Co. in Morgantown. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Howard Douglas; brother Aubrey Jewell Douglas; and daughter Barbara Ann Jelley.

Ronald W. Tines

Ronald Wayne Tines, 67 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday August 25, 2014 at his residence. The Butler County native, was born on Monday, February 17,1947 to the late Alton and Geneva B. Baucum Tines who survives. He was a member and taught Sunday School at Big Muddy Baptist Church and a WKU graduate, he taught and coached for 27 years in Butler County. Ronald loved working on his farm and spending time with his family He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers William Harold Tines and Larry Tines.

C. Seth Drake

C. Seth Drake, 27, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at his residence.  Seth was born March 18, 1987  in Charlotte, NC  to Mark Drake and Judy Ingram Drake.  He was a member of  Morgantown Church of Christ and the Speleological Society. He attended Honors College at Western Kentucky University and Ohio University in Athens Ohio. Seth loved music, art, traveling, reading, and always had an interest for  Physics and Astronomy.  Seth was a very kind and interesting person. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Paul Ingram and Desper Drake.

William Daniel Fredrick

William Daniel Fredrick, 78, passed away August 22, 2014 surrounded by family and friends.  He was born in Providence, Ky to the late William and Dixie (Cates) Fredrick.  Daniel farmed in Stanley for almost 60 years and resided in Morgantown, Ky. 

Daniel enjoyed driving around with his late friend, Dave Cole, looking at the crops and listening to the corn grow. He also enjoyed spending time with his friend, David Lee, at the club house just hanging out with friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren swinging in the porch swing.
