Katie Joann Givens Freed, 25, of  Adairville, Ky. passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Ky.  Katie was born August  9, 1989  in Logan County  to the late Will "Firecracker" Haley, and Wanda Givens who survives.  She was  employed at the Dollar General Store.  Katie had a passion for reading, she loved going to the library, and spending time reading her favorite books. She always loved to cook for her family and friends whenever she could. She was  preceded in death by her father Will "firecracker" Haley
 
She  is survived by Mother Wanda Givens of Adairville, Ky.; Birth Mother Penny Brown of Indiana; Grandmother DeNell Lewis of Clarksville, Tn., Aunts Donna Wade of Owensboro, Ky Sharon Givens of Morgantown, Linda Adler of Lewisburg, Ky, Gail Givens of Morgantown, Brenda Gibson of Murfreesboro, TN, Tina Jones of Adairville, Ky. Shannon Latham of Hopkinsville, Ky., Uncle Danny Givens, Morgantown, Six brothers , Two sisters and a slew of uncles and cousins.
 
In lieu of flowers the family request is that everyone bring helium balloons to the service or  make a a donation to Logan County Public Library envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home. 

Celebration of Life  will be held at Smith Funeral Home  Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 10:30am-  until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky. Online Condolences may be made at www.smithfuneralhome1886.com
