Gladean McCoy Givens

Gladean McCoy Givens, 89, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.  She was born in Butler Co. on April 28, 1927 to the late Lucian and Thelma Jenkins McCoy.  She was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church, a homemaker and babysitter and enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clyde Givens; sister Effie June Camfield and nephew Benny Joe McCoy.

Gerald Dale Phelps

Gerald Dale Phelps, 73, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence. Gerald was born August 26, 1943 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Walter and Bonnie Johnson Phelps. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, a retired Army Veteran and member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Jim White

Jim White, 54, of Smiths Grove, Ky. passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Huntington WV on May 12, 1962 to the late Jack Richard White and Virginia Sue Hutchinson Renfrow.  He served in the US Army Reserves and worked as a plumber.  Jim had a love for muscle cars particularly Pontiac Firebirds.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack Richard White Jr.

Livona “Hammie” Daugherty of Horse Branch, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Hartford, Kentucky. She was born March 20, 1924 in Cromwell, Kentucky to the late Frank and Iva Gidcomb Burden. Mrs. Daugherty was a member of Sugar Grove Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and loved working in her garden as long as she was able.

Esther Lou Johnson Gregory, 80, of Lewisburg, Ky., passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler Co.

J. D. Deweese

J. D. Deweese, 85, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, at his residence.  He was born in Butler Co. on March 7, 1931, to the late Taylor and Eva Woosley Deweese.  He was a United States Army Veteran, a member of Woodbury Methodist Church and a self-employed mechanic.  J. D. enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and riding his motorcycle.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Liz Ann Cockriel and one brother Glespie Deweese.

David Wayne Johnson

David Wayne Johnson, 49, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Medical Center Hospital, Bowling Green, Ky.  He was born in Warren Co., Ky. on August 3, 1967 to Carlie Jr. and Patricia Henderson Johnson who survives.  He was a member of Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church and a Sanitation worker. David liked fishing at pay lakes, watching wrestling, UK basketball and playing poker.

Michael Ray Hunt

Michael Ray Hunt, 52 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Hospice House of Southern Ky., after a long battle with COPD. Michael was born February 20, 1964, in Leitchfield Kentucky to Donald Hunt and the late Charlotte Lindsey and grandson of the late Veachel and Delia Hunt and the late Ray and Lillian Cardwell who survives. He was of the Baptist faith, worked as a dry wall hanger most of his life and proudly served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by one daughter Charlotte Hunt and one brother Timmy Porter.

Kathleen Reilly

Kathleen Reilly, 73 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday January 13, 2017 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Kathleen was born December 19, 1943 in Elkhorn Wisconsin to the late Steve and Helen Kadlac Horvath.
Kathleen Reilly is survived by one son Larry Peyer; one sister Margie Lange and close friend of the family Jim Goodwin.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date and arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.

Monita Gale Layton

Monita Gale Layton, 69 of Hartford, Ky. passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Gale was born September 26, 1947, in Grayson County Kentucky to the late Laymond D. and Tonita Cooper Embry who survives. She was a member of Big Muddy Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Green River Boys Camp. Other than her father she is preceded in death by her husband Eldon Doyle Dockery.
