Virginia Lois Richan Palmer

Virginia Lois Richan Palmer, 95, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the home of her niece Kathy Douglas in Morgantown.  She was born in Acequia, Idaho on  June 10, 1923 to the late Roy and Ida Ellen Simmons Richan.  Virgina married L. Dean Palmer on Dec 2, 1942  in the Salt Lake Temple.

 She was a beloved sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews.  She made crochet gifts and plastic canvas gifts for her family and friends for a long time until she became incapable because of dementia. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed attending services and singing the hymns even though she couldn’t remember the words, in later years. She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  step father Lloyd Richan;  brothers Wilford G. Richan, Max R. Richan and niece Constance Richan.

Virginia is survived by half sister Ellen Richan Larsen;  five nephews Mike Richan (Kim), Doug Richan (Susan), Stacy Richan (Stacey), Chris Larsen (Karen) and Tony Larsen (Arna); three nieces Christina Richan Kessler, Vickie Larsen Pape (Steve), Kathy Larsen Douglas (Bill); other nieces and nephews that are part of her husband's family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints will begin      Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
