Charles "Red" David Cox

Charles "Red" David Cox, 83, of Bowling Green passed away Friday March 24, 2017 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. He was born in Warren County on April 1, 1933 to the late John Henry and Ruby Cox. Red was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Ann Cox, sister Charlene Kingsley, 3 brothers Freddie, Darrell and Johnny Cox.

Red began his career working in restaurants at the age of fourteen; he went on to work at the Burger Basket for over 30 years. In 1988 he and his wife Becky opened Red's Coach & Table Restaurant.

Fredia M. Matlock

Fredia M. Matlock, 82, of Caneyville, passed away Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 at the Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center.  

She was born on Tuesday, November 13th, 1934 in Butler County, the daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Gracie Lena (Goodman) Embry. Fredia retired from JV Reed & Company in Louisville after 23 years of employment. She loved to bowl, shop at Walmart, bird watching and working in the tobacco field.

Kenneth Earl Brown

Kenneth Earl Brown, 91 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. He was born March 21, 1926, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clifford and Mertie Andrews Brown. Kenneth was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War from 1950 - 1952 and a retired auto mechanic.
Kenneth Earl Brown is survived by two daughters Karen Morgan of Hopkinsville, Ky. and Linda Kirby of Quality, Ky.; two grandsons Phillip and Jared Morgan both of Belton, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.

James "JC" Taylor

James "JC" Taylor, 76 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. He was born September 2, 1940, in Ohio County Kentucky to the late Obannon and Mary Miller Taylor and husband of the late Clare Snodgrass Taylor.  James was a member of Gilstrap Church of Christ, a United States Air Force veteran and a volunteer van driver for the American Legion. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by three sisters Catherine Taylor, Barbara Jo Taylor and Lucille Simmons.

Christy D. Hendrix

Christy D. Hendrix, 65 of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. She was born on Thursday, August 2, 1951, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Robert C. and Ann Fant Darnell and wife of the late Doyle Hendrix. Christy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, loved music and Tennessee Titans Football.

Greg Kirby

Greg Kirby, 57, of Huntsville, KY, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Greg was born November 19, 1959, in Greenville, KY to the late James Edward and Era Nell Davidson Kirby. Greg was a Master Logger for Gill Logging, enjoyed hunting, fishing, U.K. basketball and spending time with his family. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Jones.

Maxine Cook Gardner

Maxine Cook Gardner, 91 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
She was born Friday, March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late James Cook and the late Marie Givens Gardner. She was the wife of the late Pendleton "Pen Joe" Gardner.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years.

Raymond Lee Burden

Raymond Lee Burden, 68, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Jewish  Hospital in Louisville, Ky.  He was born in Butler Co. on May 29, 1948 to the late Silas and Della Mae Cox Burden.  He was a Drywall laborer and a member of the Conservation Club. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren Jay Raymond Morris and Maegan Hobbs; one sister Anna Lou Woosley and one brother; Ronnie Burden.

Velma Oral Peay

Velma Oral Peay, 86, of Rochester, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017, at Morgantown Care & Rehab after a brief struggle with cancer.
Velma was born on September 10, 1930, the daughter of Willie Hudnall and Lestie Stearsman Hudnall.  She married Paul Peay on October 14, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.
Velma was a member of Rochester Baptist Church and had an unwavering faith in God.  She met all friends and strangers with a smile and loved nothing more than gathering her family around her kitchen table.

Daisy Belle Marshall Lytle

Daisy Belle Marshall Lytle, 80 of Beaver Dam departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Ohio County Hospital. She was born August 15, 1936 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late George Barney and Melissa Whitsett Marshall. Daisy was a very active member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, Vice-President of the Ohio County Historical Society and a member of the Taylortown Homemakers. Mrs.
