Olive "Carson" Cook

The daughters of Olive "Carson" Cook invite friends and family to join in the celebration of their mother's 95th birthday. This will be December 18 at the Aberdeen Baptist Church Fellowship Hall between 2 and 4 p.m.

Mother would enjoy hearing from those who had Dad in school. No gifts; your presence is enough, or a card if you can't attend.

Grand Marshal Maxine Gardner

The Quality Christmas Parade was held Saturday, December 10th. The parade began at the old Anderson Store on Highway 106 and continued through downtown Quality passing the Quality Cafe and ending at the Quality Baptist Church. This year's theme was "A Christmas to Remember". Mrs. Maxine Gardner served as Grand Marshal of the parade.  According to Fred Tate, one of the organizers of the event, this year's parade was one of the largest.  Enjoy the pictures of the parade and visit the BtN YouTube channel to view the parade in its entirety.

MES Presents "Music All Over Me"

Morgantown Elementary School gymnasium was packed with hundreds of proud parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles, and other family and friends Thursday night as the five kindergarten classes performed the musical “Music All Over Me.”  After months of practice, the kindergarten students put on a show that did not disappoint.  All of the children sang, and 22 of the students had speaking parts that kept the crowd laughing throughout the musical.

Butler County High School FCCLA Makes Autism Bracelets

Eighteen FCCLA members met after school on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 to begin making “Beading to Beat Autism” bracelets. This project was started by 14 year old Michala Riggle. Her mission is to raise $300,000.00 to build a world-class autism research and treatment center. Michala and her “peeps” have already reached and gone above and beyond the initial goal of raising $200,000 for an autism study at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

Porter Earns Degree from WKU

Lindsey LaRay Porter is graduating on December 17 from Western Kentucky University with honors. Lindsey will have a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Criminology. She is the daughter of Donna Porter Flener and the late Danny Porter and the granddaughter of Berthlene Flener.

A celebration will be held in her honor on December 18 at Carve Rock Christian Center at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
