Cyber criminals have found yet another way to steal your hard-earned money: a recent phishing scheme involves spam e-mails-purportedly from the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), the Federal Reserve Bank, or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)-that can infect recipients’ computers with malware and allow access to their bank accounts.

QUILT IN A DAY WORKSHOP "Quick Trip Around the World"

Due to the success of the recent quilt in a day workshops, Tracy Thornton, County Extension Agent, will offer the third quilt in a day workshop “Quick Trip Around the World” on Saturday, March 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Butler County Extension Office.

There will be a $10 instructor fee.  Please call or stop by the Extension Office for a supply list.

It's time for Cradle School!

We will be registering students ages 3-5 starting on Feb. 13th! We only have 15 spaces available, so please only register if you will be able to attend all 4 classes. Classes will be March 2, 9, 23, & 30th at North Butler Elementary from 9:30 am-11:00 am. An adult is required to stay with the child. For more information, contact Brandie Smith at 526-8936.

McKinney & Abbott Exchange Vows

H.W. and Mary Lou McKinney

On Tuesday, February 14th a wedding ceremony took place at Morgantown Care and Rehab between two residents. Harvey Willis (H.W.) McKinney, 79 from Morgantown, and Mary Lou Abbott, 80 also from Morgantown were set to move down the aisle and be married with the ceremony beginning at 2PM. Both McKinney and Abbott are native to Butler County.  McKinney was a bachelor and Mary Lou had been a widow for 27 years. The two residents claim it was "Love at first sight" when they first met 6 years ago and both became residents of Morgantown Care and Rehab.

Little Muddy Rural Development Club News

The Little Muddy RD Club met January 16th, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.  There were 12 people present.  The meeting began with Maggie Drake leading the club in the pledge to the American flag.  Gabe Keen gave the blessing for the meal. After the meal President Sean Weeks called the business meeting to order. The minutes were read by Secretary, Donnita Weeks and approved.  The birthdays and anniversaries were announced and celebrated with song. The club thanked the host for the night Sean Weeks.

The Morgantown Elementary 2012 Primary Spelling Bee Winners were: First Place- Ethan Clark, 2nd Place- Taylin Clark, and Keagen Grubb 3rd Place.

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church hosts Pinewood Derby

Members of Bethel, Mt. Olivet and Pleasant Grove churches participated in the Pinewood Derby on January 28. Martine Brown of Mt. Olivet was the overall winner.
