4-H Campers return home

Butler County students attending 4-H Camp at the Western Kentucky 4-H Camp in Dawson Springs returned home Friday afternoon. 84 students ages 9-13 attended the five day camp. Parents eagerly awaited the arrival of their child at the Butler County Extension Office.

Physical Therapy Solutions welcomes Laura Shelton, PT, DPT

Physical Therapy Solutions has welcomed a new physical therapist to their practice in Laura Shelton, PT, DPT. Shelton will be working in the Morgantown office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and she will spend Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Leitchfield office. She will be performing evaluations, screenings, and treatments for clients as well as communicating with the patients doctors.

BCHS Band prepares for upcoming season

The Butler County High School band began preparations for their upcoming show, Fire, by participating in band camp this week. Band director Jason Ausbrooks, along with former band members and guest instructors, will work with over 120 members of band during the two week event. Students will spend seven and a half hours each day furthering their band skills as well as learning the new show for the upcoming season.

Cheaper by the 1/2 Dozen Quilt Class Scheduled

Want to learn a new quilt pattern and in the process make a quilt top?  We will have a class on Saturday, August 11 at the Butler County Extension Office.  Set up time will be 9 a.m. with the class getting underway at 9:30 a.m.  If you would like to attend this class, call the Extension Office at 526-3767 and register so that the supply list may be mailed. There will be no charge for the class but you will need to bring your sewing machine and other supplies.

Drakes Celebrate 70 Years of Marriage

Carlton and Lennie Drake have reached a milestone few have accomplished.  On July 20 they will celebrate 70 years of marriage.  They are celebrating this event with family dinners.  Carlton is the son of the late Charlie and Jessie Mae Belcher Drake and was raised in the South Hill Community with 3 brothers.  Lennie is the daughter of the late Buell and Louva Martin Rone and had 12 siblings.  They were married in Hartford, Kentucky, July 20, 1942.  After marriage they went to Baltimore and were employed at Glen L.

BCMS Jump Start and Open House Information

Jump Start has been changed to Friday, August 3, 2012.  It will be conducted from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm and lunch will be served. Jump Start is an opportunity for Sixth graders to meet their new teachers, new principal, assistant principal, and new classmates.
