BCHS wins BRIMS Bridge Building Competiton

Isaiah Arnold, Kayla Spurgeon, Tyler Johnson, and Tristan Elmore

Butler County High School won the BRIMS Bridge Building competition on Saturday, March 2, at the WKU Center of Research and Development.   BCHS took top 4 out of 10, including first place by Tristan Elmore and second place by Tyler Johnson, third place by Kayla Spurgeon, and fourth place by Latona Dockery.

BCMS bridge-building students in Top 10 at BRIMS

On Saturday, March 2, the 18th annual BRIMS Regional Bridge Building Competition was held at the WKU Center of Research and Development in Bowling Green.  This year's competition featured four schools and 96 qualifying contestants.  24 students from Butler County Middle School entered bridges in the middle school division.

Gary Reception/Shower

Bobby and Annette Kirby,of Quality, would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Katie to Michael Gary.  The couple were wed in a small ceremony on March 2nd.  Michael is the son of Mike Gary and Penny Gary both of Morgantown.

There will be a reception/household shower for the couple on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2:00pm at the Huntsville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Gilstrap Church of Christ Meeting

Church of Christ on Hwy. 1118 (Gilstrap Road) will be having a gospel meeting on March 24th Sunday morning at 10:00am and on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm thru March 27th at 6:00pm nightly.  The speaker will be Joe Hill from Van Lear, Ky.  Everyone is welcome to come hear a message from God's word.

Butler County Chapter of SkillsUSA Regional Winners

Several students representing the Butler County Chapter of SkillsUSA competed in various regional competitions Friday, March 1 in Bowling Green.  As always we are very proud of all our students for their ability to compete with integrity and skill.  Seven students came back as placement winners.

40th Annual Spring Playschool

Playschool Graduation 2012

The Butler County Child Development classes will conduct a Playschool for preschool children.  The days will be Tuesdays for 2 ½ and 3 year-olds, Wednesdays for 4 year-olds and Fridays for 5 year-olds; however, we are willing to work with parents on scheduling.  Children who are presently enrolled in kindergarten are not eligible to attend.  All children must be potty-trained.

BCHS Project Prom plans Zumbathon

Prom season is just around the corner and the Butler County High School Project Prom committee is busy with preparations.  To raise money for the 2013 Junior-Senior Project Prom, a Zumbathon is scheduled for March 15 at 5 p.m. at the BCHS gym.  Certified instructors are Allison Jenkins, Katie Wilson, and B.J. Dockery.  Admission is $10; $5 for students.  Vendor booths will be set up.  All proceeds will benefit BCHS Project Prom.

Spring Art Academy

Fun Friday Spring Art Academy-Students in 2nd to 5th grade. We will be offering a variety of spring artistic opportunities for 2 Fridays, March 15th and March 22nd from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Education Complex.
FEE: $20.00 due at the first class.  Students may ride the bus from their school (Bear’s Den Bus) to the complex and parents or caregivers will pick them up by 6:00pm.
We will also provide a snack.

KY Farm License Plate Voluntary Donation

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Agriculture Commissioner James Comer joined Kentucky 4-H and Kentucky FFA leaders to announce that proceeds from voluntary donations to the Agricultural Program Trust Fund will be divided equally among 4-H, FFA, and Kentucky Proud.
