While fog was lifting in other regions of the state Friday morning, a bright blue sky provided the best of visibility locally for one of our nation’s icons. A bald eagle chose the boat ramp at Aberdeen for some river viewing at about 8 AM. The scene soon turned into some people watching for him (or her).
The bird, spotted first by Brad Johnson before a backhoe arrived to clear the ramp of mud, was not fazed by those gathered to watch. The sound of approaching equipment, however, was too much, and the eagle moved on upstream.
