Butler County NSDAR Celebrates Presidents’ Birthdays with Speaker on Lincoln

Members and guest attending Butler County Chapter NSDAR February 28 meeting at the Butler County Public Library came away with a new understanding and appreciation of Abraham Lincoln after listening to a presentation by Steve Fuller.  Those gathered felt the past come to life and the figures from the Civil War history pages took on dimension as he recounted Lincoln’s life and times.  February was Black History Month and Steve revealed some little known facts that scattered along Lincoln’s path that lead to his writing the Emancipation Proclamation.

Members Peggy Drake and Jane Eaton-Henderson were the hostesses for the evening.  Members and guests enjoyed a Valentine theme with cakes, candies, and a beautiful fruit tray.

The next DAR meeting will be March 28 at the Butler County Public Library at 6:00 pm when the chapter Honor Women in History.
