Your Opinion Needed on New 4-H Camp Storm Shelter

The West Kentucky 4-H Camp is developing plans to address the establishment of a Storm Shelter/Cabin for the camp in Dawson Springs.  As you may know, the camp does not have an existing structure to use as shelter during times of pending emergencies.  Part of having a great camping experience is to also have a safe experience.  The capacity of camp is approximately 450 campers, staff, and volunteers.  We are exploring the feasibility of constructing a sound structure that would provide adequate shelter in times of inclement weather.

Morgantown Bank and Trust held their Annual Holiday Musical Celebration onFriday at the main office.  Local musicans gathered to ring in the holidays with a special guest appearance by Elvis( Tom Jones) and Santa.

Silent Night, Holy Night

Members and friends of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints displayed over 400 individual nativities depicting the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ the past two weekends. There are some very large and some very tiny, some that take on many different themes from comic strips to different types of toy figures.

Holiday Mail For Heroes

Recently the members of the Boys & Girls Club of Butler County signed and sent over 100 Christmas cards to active duty military members in hospitals and installations around the world. Each card was signed by several club members. This was done in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

BCHS Chamber Choir

The Butler County High School Chamber Choir, under the direction of Mr. Travis Lowe, visited the Butler County Courthouse on Friday morning.The choir sung a variety of Christmas carols for the county employees. 

The choir will be in concert at Morgantown First Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00pm.

"Polar Express" at BC Public Library

Cookies, juice, and Santa, all a part of the annual “Polar Express” night held at the library on Tuesday night.  The program, organized by Children’s Librarian Tammy Suggs, is in its third year.

Jo Jo Jennings: Judge Executive

North Butler Elementary  student Jo Jo Jennings recently won the privilege of becoming Butler County Judge Executive for a day. Jennings arrived dressed for the job, took his seat in the executive office and signed in his first proclamation mere moments after arriving. The proclamation declared hat day at North Butler Elementary School. Following this, David Fields gave Jennings a tour of the Butler County  Courthouse.
