MES 2nd Graders Honor Local Heros

Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Donaldson and Mrs. King's 2nd Grade Classes from Morgantown Elementary School wrote and delivered letters to our local heroes in honor of 9/11. They delivered the letters on their first walking field trip.

The Medical Center's event, A Day Just for Women, Sept 11,2014, was attended by Author Linda J Hawkins and Author Diana Hankla. They represented books published by Heart to Heart Publishing Inc. Hankla's newest title,Under the Silvery Moon, is a patriotic book that came out on Labor Day earlier this month.

Doughty & Wilson Wedding

Tim and Kyllie Doughty of Woodbury announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Laura Lynn Doughty, to Billy Lee Wilson, III, son of Donna and Billy Wilson, Jr. of Morgantown.
Laura is the granddaughter of Linda Jo Givens, of Morgantown and Rodney and Karen Lee Givens of Quality, and Roy and the late Hazel Doughty of Hot Springs, South Dakota.
Billy is the grandson of the late Glenda and Dan Lowery of Louisiana and the late Carolyn and Billy Wilson, Sr. of Missouri.

Band Seniors Honored

The Butler County High School Marching Band is well into a busy competition season, and hosted their annual band show on Saturday at BCHS.
The band comes into this season with one of the largest groups of student-musicians in BCHS history. 161 students began working on this year’s show in early August, with two practices a day despite the heat. Counting a large middle school band the total number of students committed to the band right now is over 350.

2nd District Volunteer Fire Department Annual Fundraiser

The 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department will be holding it's annual fundraiser on September 27, 2014 with all day activities beginning at 10:00 AM. The event will be held at 62 Firehouse Lane, Lewisburg, KY. Barbeque plates will be served between the hours of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Barbeque is being catered by "Tender Smoke Bar B Que".
