BCHS Science Club: Super Saturday

Butler County High School Science Club student and teacher members will be hosting a Spring Super Saturday on October 18, 2014, from 8:30am to 2:00pm with a Halloween theme.  Students, a.k.a. investigators will participate in a variety of biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science events to help solve the case.

Congratulations Zachary

Doris Taylor Stahl, formerly of Butler County, is proud to announce the graduation of her grandson, Zachary, on May 17, 2014, from St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, GA.
Zachary graduated in the upper 3% of his class and was a member of the Honor Society all four years, making the Dean’s/Principal list each quarter.  He is also proud to have received the Citizenship Award his senior year. 
He participated in many sports; basketball, Lacrosse, water polo; exceling in swimming and diving, where he led his team to number one in the state competition.

Butler Co. EMS Open House

The Butler County Ambulance Service will be hosting an Open House at 1290 Veterans Way (old Kellwood Outlet and Pizza Zone building) all day on Thursday, October 16th.   The new facility houses the Ambulance Service and E911 Dispatch Center.  The public is cordially invited to tour the new facility.  Refreshments will be served.

Warren RECC Candy/Cookie Recipe Contest

Warren RECC is celebrating the season with a candy/cookie recipe contest. Members are encouraged to dust off their favorite candy or cookie recipe. The winner will receive $50, and their recipe will be printed and made available at all district offices, on Warren RECC’s website, and Facebook. Two honorable mentions will each receive $25, and their recipe will also be printed and made available at all district offices, on Warren RECC’s website, and Facebook.

1972 Class Reunion

The Butler County High School Class of 1972 is having their class reunion on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Hitcents Park Banquet Room at 8th Street and College in Bowling Green next to the Bowling Green Hot Rods Stadium. “Yarn Bombing” Community Art Project at BC Library

The Butler County Public Library has been yarn bombed. 

What is yarn bombing?  It is a type of fiber art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber. Director Kenna Martin says “ Yarn bombing is a way to create and promote hand made products and fiber art and to collaborate with other crafters and artists to temporarily brighten and beautify the environment or landscape.”

Pendley/Porter Wedding

Scott and Tina Porter of Quality are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Audrey Beth Porter to Collin Jay Newman Pendley, son of Alan and Teresa Pendley of Morgantown. The ceremony will take place at 5:30pm on Saturday October 11, 2014 at the home of Alan and Teresa Pendley,1536 Richland Church Road in Morgantown. All friends and family of the bride and groom are invited to attend.  There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony.

Alford- Miller Engagement

Bobby and Sandy M. Alford of Roundhill,  are honored to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelli Brooke Alford to Alan Wayne Miller, son of Kathy Priddy of Bowling Green and the late Tommy Miller.

Kelli is the granddaughter of Ira W. Meredith and the late Willie Mae Meredith. She is also the granddaughter of the late Roby and Modest Alford.

Kelli is a graduate of Edmonson County High and Western Kentucky University where she received a Masters Degree in Sociology. She is employed by the Edmonson County Clerk’s Office in Brownsville.
