Teens At the Club

Project Prom Needs Your Help

Friday, February 7th is a busy day at BCHS. BCHS will host Edmonson Co for double header district games. It is Homecoming and Pink Out night as well. The Project Prom Committee is also having a Silent Auction Bake Sale beginning at 6pm and concluding at the end of half time of the second game. Suggested items include cake, pie, batch of cookies, candies, breads, etc. Items need to be packaged or covered, but visible if possible. Items can be brought to the BCHS front office during school hours or to the gym entrance at 5:30pm.

Butler Co. ATC Students Visits UK’s Cadaver Lab

 Ms. Joiners Health Science students

On Thursday, January 16th, Butler Co Health Science students got a chance to visit the University of Kentucky’s Cadaver Lab. The Cadaver lab is located in UK’s Outreach center in Med Center Annex 5.  The outreach Center is designed to enhance the knowledge and learning of Human Anatomy and Physiology as well as to encourage students to study science. 
The lab gives students the opportunity to actually see, feel and hold human organs and various body parts. It allows the students to fully understand the anatomy of the organ and how it functions.

School shooting survivor to speak at MCC

Morgantown Community will host a Projekt Hero speaker on Sunday, January 26, from 3 to 5 p.m.   The event is open for all middle and high school youth in Butler County to attend at no cost.  The church asks that each one bring one or more non-perishable food item to be donated to the Morgantown Mission.  The speaker will be Brooklyn Watson, a survivor of the school shooting at Heath High School in Paducah in 1997.  She speaks of the tragic event as well as the following years as she questioned God, even as her faith grew and became more real.

Extension Celebrates 100 Years of Financial Management

For the past 100 years, the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service has been about the business of improving the lives of families through educational programs in financial management. Beginning in 1914, home demonstration agents taught homemaking, resource management and food preservation. In the 1940’s agents had a tremendous impact on family economics, helping people save on home food production, food preservation, repurposing of clothing and reconditioning of furnishings.
