Veterans Day Parade Set For Nov. 8: Entry Form Here!

The annual Veterans Day parade will be November 8, 2014 starting at 2 PM. The parade will follow the route used for all parades, starting at the Morgantown Elem. School and returning there. This will be another full day of activities. The annual Butler County Chapter NSDAR Veterans Breakfast will be at BCHS Commons Area starting at 9AM. Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Upcoming Ceremony

Breast Cancer Awareness month is October.  Please join us on Saturday, October 4 at 2:00, on the Butler County Courthouse lawn to recognize breast cancer survivors, encourage breast cancer survivors going through treatments, and to honor the ones that are no longer with us because of breast cancer.

There will be entertainment and a short walk around the courthouse -- for anyone that wants to walk.   Wear something pink and join us !

Renfrow Trinity Church Women’s Retreat

On Thursday, September 11, 2014, AirEvac visited Butler Co ATC and spoke to the Health Science Students.  AirEvac is the largest independently owned and operated membership-supported air medical service in the United States. The company has established itself as the preeminent provider of air ambulance services to communities in need of advanced emergency health care and rapid medical transport.

There is an 18 year old young man that has been living on streets of Morgantown for the past few weeks. He has currently been given lodging at the Green River Motel.
Richland Baptist Church is tryng to coordinate efforts to assist him due to his needs.

Rochester Craft and Music Festival

The Annual Rochester Craft and Music Festival was held on Saturday, September 20 at the Rochester Park. The festival had a wide variety of booths, cars, trucks, tractors, beauty pageants, food, and music. The official start of the festival was 9 am.  Shortly, there were booths set up and the pageant was underway.  Later there was a car show. The 1946 GMC truck owned by Richard Miller won 1st place for trucks.  A 1955 Chevrolet owned by Tony Harper won People’s Choice for car.

Rochester Beauty Pageants

The Rochester Arts, Crafts, and Music Festival was held on Saturday and was a huge success. The Green River Pageant was held as part of the festival.  Winners included:

DAR Celebrates Constitution Week

The Butler County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated Constitution Week. On Wednesday, September 17 NSDAR kicked off Constitution day with Bells Across America on the courthouse lawn. Following this they made a trip to Morgantown Elementary School to enlighten students regarding the history and traditions associated with the United States of America.
