BCHS FBLA Attends Nationals

On June 28 - July 3rd, four BCHS students had an amazing opportunity to visit Chicago and compete on a national level in Chicago, IL at the annual NLC FBLA conference. Aer Sells competed in International Business. Maggie Drake competed in Intro to Business Communications. Parker Stallings competed in Personal Finance. Sophia Burns competed in Supply Chain Management. They built important leadership, business, and networking skills.

Renovations to Granville Allen Post 5837

     It has been thirty years since the Granville Allen Post 5837 has been updated.  This summer an interior facelift was performed giving the post a new, clean look inside. The majority of the renovations have been overseen by Commander Jim Parker, Vice Commander Andy Gidcumb, and local contractors.  The walls have been repainted, new trim will be added, all 600 tiles in the ceiling have been replaced, and a new roof installed.  However, they are not done yet!  Next on the list of renovations will be the bathrooms and the kitchen.

Cameron Boys' Camp at Reed's Ferry

Beech Tree News received a tip Monday night that a youth group was camping at Reed's Ferry. Initially, I brushed it off as gossip, but after I dropped Ellie off at the school Tuesday morning, my curiosity got the best of me, and I headed to Logansport.

Richland Baptist Church to host women's conference

Richland Baptist Church will host its Annual Women’s Conference this Saturday, August 27th from 9:00 am until lunch. This year’s theme will be Called to Worship and features Mrs. Linda McDaniel as the keynote speaker. Linda is a long-time dedicated pastor’s wife, wise mom, fun grandma and gifted nurse with a heart for Jesus and equipping women to take the next step, or maybe first step, in their faith.

I am constantly in awe of the artists we have in Butler County. The talent here is impressive, and it never ceases to surprise me. The artist I had the pleasure to meet for this interview was Frank Hobbs. Yet artist doesn't encompass a complete description of Mr. Hobbs. He paints, volunteers, and teaches; he's a giver.

Monticello Baptist Church's Homecoming

Exactly six years ago to August 7, 2016, Living Proof performed at Monticello Baptist Church's homecoming. This past Sunday, Monticello Baptist Church celebrated its homecoming. Monticello Baptist Church is in its 217th year.

Gospel group Living Proof returned to bring the Word via song.

It's Homemaker Pecan Time!!

              It’s pecan fundraising time for the Butler County Homemakers!  Homemakers are taking orders for the FRESH 2022 crop of Schermer pecans, either pieces, halves or chocolate halves, through October 14th.

Butler County Arts Guild Member Exhibition
