What’s in a Cigarette?  Do you really know?  There are approximately 600 ingredients in a cigarette, and when they are burned, they create more than 7,000 chemicals.  69 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are toxic.  Here are just a few: 

Calendar Girl/Centerfold Guy 2020 was held on Saturday night at the Butler County High School.  The event is sponsored by the Butler County High School FCCLA.  Forty-one young ladies and five young men competed for the calendar spots. The 2020 Cover Girl is Miss Conley Moore, she is the daughter of Greg and Chasity Moore.  The Centerfold Guy is Mr. Spencer Cohron, he is the son of Dr. Todd and Becky Cohron.

The monthly winners included: 

The Kentucky Magistrates & Commissioners Association (KMCA), headquartered in Frankfort, Kentucky provided over 500 pairs of new shoes to Butler County Schools on November 7, 2019.  The shoes were delivered to Morgantown Elementary School and were donated by elected Magistrates & Commissioners from all over the state.   

On Wednesday, October 23rd Butler County School District teamed up with Delta Faucet Company to provide an opportunity for students to tour the facility and see first hand the work that is taking place there.  Students from Butler County Learning Center, Butler County High School, and Butle

A cast of scary characters descended on WLBQ on Halloween night as trick-or-treating took place throughout the community.  Well over 100 trick-or-treaters braved the cold temperatures to take part in the annual pursuit of candy and way too much sugar! The photos above feature some of the ghoulish costumes.   

            It’s that time of year once again, time to start getting ready for the colder weather. It’s also the perfect time to jump on the opportunity of participating in the 2020 4-H Country Ham Project.

Monday night the Extension Council was served a delicious Italian meal at the Extension Office.  Shanna Drake prepared the meal and her husband Greg helped serve.

Gilmer Valesquez.  Do you recognize his name?  He is a sophomore at Butler County Middle School.  Gilmer was born with a defective kidney, leaving him with one still functioning.

On Saturday, the Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce hosted the largest Harvest On the Square at the Butler County Extension Office. With over 90 vendors, visitors had a wide variety of items for purchase. Food, clothing, decor, kitchen products, jewelry, and stained glass were just a few items available. Several contests rounded out the day.
