Suggs teaches heart-shaped painting class

Lilly Suggs, Junior Arts Guild Leader, taught 16 young students to create a heart-shaped painting this past Saturday. Seventeen-year-old Lilly has only been painting seriously for four years, but she is one of the most accomplished painters in Butler County. Her raccoon family on the mural at the Butler County Extension Office is one of the favorites.

BCHS Yearbook Staff takes top awards

The winners of the 2018-019 KHSJA contests were announced during the winter convention on Jan. 23, 2020. Butler County High School Yearbook staff won several awards.  Congratulations to Harley Howard, Michelle Cardwell, Alyssa Swift, and Bailey Stinson.  Jennifer Davis is the yearbook advisor.

My DAR Patriot by Jane Kent Smith

My DAR Patriot is Colonel William Edmiston who served in Virginia. It was easy for me to join as my patriot’s service had already been proved by my mother Dorothy Moore Kent. She was a charter member of the original Butler County Chapter in the early 1950s. I remember she had to have some of the ladies from the Samuel Daviess Chapter in Bowling Green sign her application for membership as the chapter was new.
