We have been very busy all fall getting ready for Christmas, before Christmas. We have to have everything done early so that everyone can get the warm hats and scarves and ear warmer headbands for our Festival of Trees tree before Christmas. Also, the new babies at the Medical Center got Christmas hats to wear home. I recently met a young woman whose baby was born 2 years ago just before Christmas and had worn one of our hats home. I think the parents enjoy these special little hats, and they are a pleasure to make. All of the things we make are made with love.

Butler County Stockman’s Association Accepting Consignments for 2020 Cattle Sale Until January 10th

The Butler County Stockman’s Association Board of Directors invites local cattle producers to consign animals for the 2020 production sale.  Calves must be consigned to the sale by the January, 10, 2020 deadline.  Heifers in the sale can be bred or open and they can be registered or crossbred.  Young cows can also be consigned to the sale.  NO Bulls will be sold in the 2020 sale.  Interested farmers should contact Rhonda Meredith (sale clerk) at 270-999-6515 for an information/consignment packet.  A consignment fee of $25 per head is due before the consignment deadline.  This marketing opti

2019 BCDAR FESTIVAL OF TREES Viewer’s Choice

Morgantown First Baptist Church WMU tree was Viewer's Choice.

The Butler County Chapter NSDAR 12th Annual Festival of Trees has come to a close, after a very successful year. Over 50 entries were decorated in a variety of themes which included trees, wreaths, and other displays transforming the space into a Holiday Wonderland. Once again over 600 elementary students were able to view the trees and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.

Guitar and fiddle recitals held at public library

Frank Hobbs and his students sang and played to a vast audience this past Thursday at the Butler County Public Library. When Hobbs realized that ten of his students would be performing for the second Christmas recital, he moved the event to the library.

Volunteers making a difference at MCR

Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation always has volunteers visiting the residents, even more around the holidays.

 

On December 2, Scout Troop 208 and Kathy Thacker got some of the residents involved in making a basket, passing out gifts, and enjoying some snacks.

Bearfest 2020

Bearfest 2020 is in the books. Butler County Bears and Lady Bears both picked up wins against district opponent Whitesville Trinity.  Homecoming activities between the games included the crowning of Jordan Chambers and Parker Rice. Jordan is the daughter of Denny and Samantha Chambers of Morgantown.
