MORGANTOWN — Butler County is among the state's Top 10 Class 2A high school football teams.
The Bears are ranked 10th in the Kentucky Associated Press Class 2A Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
Unbeaten, Butler County is off to a 4-0 start in the 2022 high school football season. The Bears have posted wins over Russellville, Edmonson County, Breckinridge County and Grayson County.

Lady Bears drop match to Franklin-Simpson

FRANKLIN — Visiting Butler County pushed for a win but came up short as Franklin-Simpson prevailed 2-1 in a non-district high school volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 8.
Butler County battled back from behind to tie the match 1-1 before faltering late.

Lady Bears drop match at Allen County-Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE — Butler County slipped back into the loss column as host Allen County-Scottsville pulled away to win 6-1 in a girls' high school soccer match on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Kynleigh Schultz scored three goals to lead Allen County-Scottsville to the win.

Bears beat Grayson County, continue to win

MORGANTOWN — Continuing to win, Butler County beat visiting Grayson County 35-13 on Friday, Sept. 9. 

After notching the win, Butler County moved to 4-0.

Grayson County dropped to 1-3 after suffering the loss. 

The Bears and Cougars, longtime rivals, met for a non-district high school football game. 

Butler County and Grayson County battled back and forth throughout the first half.

MORGANTOWN — Following back-to-back away games, Butler County is set to host rival Grayson County in a matchup at home on Friday, Sept. 9. 

Butler County is 3-0. The Bears have notched wins over Russellville, Edmonson County and Breckinridge County. Through its first three games in the 2022 high school football season, Butler County has outscored opponents 115-19. 

Butler County is averaging 301.7 rushing yards per game in the 2022 high school football season.

The Bears are averaging 4.3 rushing touchdowns per game.

Bears blank Breckinridge County, 46-0

HARNED — Continuing to win, visiting Butler County blanked Breckinridge County 46-0 on Friday, Sept. 2. 

The Bears and Fighting Tigers met in a non-district high school football game.

Butler County set the tone early, reaching the endzone twice during the opening quarter. 

The Bears dominated throughout the first half to lead 39-0 at halftime. 

Carrying momentum over into the second half, Butler County added another touchdown after the intermission period to extend its lead to 46-0.
