Bears 2022 Football Updates/ Opponents-Quick Facts

The BCHS Bears are 4-0 overall; and enjoy the Bye Week-No game in week #5, Friday, September 16. In High School, regular season football, each school plays a ten-game schedule. Therefore, the Bye week varies from team to team.

Let's look at the remainder of the opponents on the schedule and summary to date as we enter week #5 of the regular season. Listed below are the Bears' ten opponents and overall records.

Russellville (0-4), Edmonson Co. (0-4), Breck Co. (0-4), Grayson Co (1-3), McLean Co. (4-0), Hancock Co. (4-0),

Oboro Catholic (2-2), Todd Co. (3-1), Clinton Co. (0-4), Ohio Co. (0-3).

The Bears (4-0) now enter the next phase of the schedule, the Class 2A District 2 games. The Bears are in a five-team district, Owensboro Catholic, Hancock, McLean, Todd Co. Every game is important, but coaches and players know all too well that District game wins determine your seeding in the post-season Class 2A State playoffs.

Teams set goals yearly with the plan to finish as high in the seeding as possible. #1 and #2 seeds host first-round state playoff games in week one of the Class 2A state playoffs Friday, November 4. Teams that finish as the #3 and #4 seeds travel on week one, Friday, November 4.

Here is a quick look at the Bears District; after the Bears Bye week, the Bears play four weeks in a row of district opponents.

Team Overall Record/ District Record

Butler Co. (4-0) (0-0)

McLean Co. (4-0) (0-0)

Hancock Co.(4-0) (0-0)

Looking into the very near future, the Bears will be home Friday, September 23, to host the McLean Co. Cougars, who will probably enter the game that night at (5-0)—setting the stage for a great matchup of two undefeated teams, and the first district game of the season for the Bears. So circle your calendar, save the date and make plans for another great night of high school football; Friday Night Lights in Butler Co.
