MORGANTOWN — Butler County was limited offensively as Owensboro Catholic pulled away to win 35-12 in a Class 2A, District 2 game on Thursday, Oct. 6. 

Owensboro Catholic dealt Butler County its second straight Class 2A, District 2 loss. 

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in Class 2A, District 2.

Owensboro Catholic improved to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in Class 2A, District 2 after notching the win.

LEITCHFIELD — Freshman defender Landon Beatty and sophomore striker Xavier Jones represent Butler County on the All-11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament Team. 

Beatty and Jones were named to the All-11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament Team on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Meade County pulled away to shut out Butler County 10-0 in the semifinals of the 11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament at Grayson County High School on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The loss to Meade County eliminated Butler County from the 2022 boys' high school soccer postseason. 

 HAWESVILLE — Butler County suffered its first setback in the 2022 high school football season as homestanding Hancock County pulled away to win 28-0 in a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday. Sept. 30.

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in Class 2A, District 2. 

Hancock County moved to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in Class 2A, District 2 after notching the win. 

The Hancock Co. Hornets have been a long time district foe dating back to the early 1990’s. The Hornets are (5-1)

LEITCHFIELD — The 11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament is set to be held at Grayson County High School Tuesday, Oct. 4-Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Tournament host Grayson County is slated to face Edmonson County in the semifinals of the 11th District Boys' Soccer Tournament at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Butler County is pitted against Meade County in the nightcap of the 11th District Boys' Soccer Semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

MORGANTOWN — Unbeaten Butler County is preparing to visit Hancock County for its next game in the 2022 high school football season on Friday, Sept. 30.

The Bears and Hornets are due to battle in a Class 2A, District 2 matchup. 

Butler County is 5-0 overall and in Class 2A, District 2. The Bears have notched wins over Russellville, Edmonson County, Breckinridge County, Grayson County and McLean County.

Through five games, Butler County has outscored opponents 177-44. 

MORGANTOWN — Butler County dropped back-to-back 12th District matches to Grayson County and Edmonson County over a three-day span from Tuesday, Sept. 20-Thursday, Sept 22.
