Raymer's Delta-8 regulation measure passes House Floor

Frankfort, Kentucky (March 9, 2023) – After gaveling in for day 23 of this year’s Regular Session of the General Assembly, lawmakers took a vote on several pieces of legislation, including HB 544.

HB 544, sponsored by Representative Rebecca Raymer of Morgantown, requires the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to immediately begin the process of regulating delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC,) as well as all of the other available intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoids.

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Alan Keck visits county

Republican gubernatorial candidate Alan Keck visited Butler County and toured the Butler County School District in a visit seeking to promote his vision and support of public education.  The visit also allowed him to get a first-hand look, according to school officials, into "what makes our educational system in Butler County great."

FISCAL COURT: Magistrates make several hires; accept final settlement from county clerk

Butler County Fiscal Court met at the Butler County Courthouse on Monday, February 27. All magistrates attended: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Allen Smith, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.  

Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson presented her final settlement for the calendar year 2022 and gave the court a check for $311,913.50 in excess fees collected. The clerk's office had a total income of $6,434,625.85 and expenses of $6,122,712.35.

Ribbon-cutting held for Hometown Trophy

The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on Monday, February 27, at Hometown Trophy.  The new local business is located at 125 G.L. Smith Street in Morgantown.  The owners, Jarrod and Lindsey Evans, recently opened their shop.  They are offering trophies, plaques, and much more.

WARREN RECC OUTAGE UPDATE

March 6, 2023 (Bowling Green, KY) 9:30 a.m. Warren RECC staff and crews continue to work alongside visiting crews to fully restore power to our members. As of 9:30 a.m., we have approximately 8,700 members still without power.
