Frankfort, KY — Governor Andy Beshear (D) has signed SB 47 into law, making Kentucky the 38th state to legalize medical cannabis for patients with debilitating conditions. 

The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, March 21. There were multiple recognitions on the agenda.

The Grand Jury returned the following indictments on March 24. and set arraignments for April 11.

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, March 13, at the Butler County Courthouse.

The Morgantown Elementary Archery Team competed this weekend at the State Tournament at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY.  The Bullseye team finished in 7th place and the 3D team finished in 5th place.  Raelynn Southerland came in 8th place in Elementary Girls in 3D.  The coaches are super proud of these top ten finishes!

Butler County 4-H members joined their counterparts across the state to take part in the 4-H Capitol Experience in Frankfort, Kentucky, on Tuesday, March 14.  From Butler County, a group of 21 4-Hers, along with seven adults, toured the State Capitol, met with State Rep. Rebecca Raymer, got their photo made on the Senate floor, and then finished the day with a visit to the Kentucky Museum of History.  

A brush fire near Silver City- Huntsville road led to one man being airlifted to Vanderbilt University Hospital for his injuries.
