FRANKFORT--Attorney General Daniel Cameron this week announced more than $8 million in grant funding to 24 opioid abatement programs in the Commonwealth. The grants will be awarded by the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission (KYOAAC) within the Attorney General’s office.

MURRAY, Ky. — Murray State University has awarded Delaney Daugherty from Morgantown, Kentucky with the prestigious Presidential Fellowship scholarship, which includes full tuition, housing and meals for up to four years at the University.

Morgantown Bank & Trust hosted a reception for their scholarship winners on Tuesday, April 18. The following students were honored:

Tobin Maxfield- Tobin is graduating from Butler County High School and plans to attend the University of Kentucky in the fall to study Civil Engineering.

Sean Wilson, age 50, of Provo, passed away Friday, December 24, due to complications with Covid. He was a Monticello Missionary Baptist Church member, United States Navy Veteran serving in Operation Desert Storm.  He was a 1990 Butler County High School graduate. Sean was a member of the Granville Allen VFW Post 5837 in Morgantown, KY, and Bowling Green VFW Post 1298. 

His parents, Milton and Carolyn, wanted to do something in Sean's memory. So, after talking with Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward, the Wilsons purchased a ballistic shield for the department.
